Hello. I am Emma
I would describe myself as a creative and energetic artist & illustrator. Originally from Leeds, I moved to Manchester to study fashion at Man Met. I instantly fell in love with the city and now considers myself a fiercely proud Mancunian.
I have worked as a creative for 16 years, mainly in commercial fashion design for UK high street brands, I have also managed sample rooms in China, sourced new factories in Morocco and collaborated with established producers in Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. All this has allowed me to create across several mediums in many different cultural environments.
My professional art journey began in early 2018, I found it liberating to be creating art with no commercial brief. My style is mainly colourful, bold and abstract. I'm obsessed with traveling and exploring new things, art, food, culture, and I love meeting new people. My travels are a big inspiration for my work, I always travel with a sketch book and pen to doodle along the way.
I love to look at the positivity and joy in everything, even things that some people find awkward, ugly or obtrusive, it could be the cranes building the high rises in the city, rainy days or poking fun at awkward social norms.
If you don't like colour, my work is probably not for you :)
